The Bible is the word of God, and it shows God’s way of love, sacrifice, and service. Christ instructs us to live on that path. In fact, the Bible is the foundation of true knowledge. Jesus said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).
Those who are called by God live a different way than those around them and are truly “ambassadors” of God’s government (Ephesians 6:20; 2 Corinthians 5:20). Christians should pray for the leaders of their countries, who have been brought to their positions by God, but the Church of God has historically taught its members not to participate in this world’s politics.
Divine healing is also one of the many benefits of God’s way of life. Healing is one of the “spiritual gifts” (1 Corinthians 12:1, 9). A Hebrew name for God is Yahweh Ropheka, which means “the Eternal who heals.” The great God is the Master “who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases" (Psalm 103:3; 1 Peter 2:24). “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (James 5:14-16).
The Living Church of God follows the direct instructions of the Bible. We believe that God grants healing to each person today according to one’s faith and God’s will.
God’s word commands all mankind to love their neighbors as they love themselves (Leviticus 19:18; Matthew 22:39; Acts 17:24-29). God has revealed that salvation is now offered to both Jews and Gentiles (Acts 10:34-35; Romans 10:12-13; cf. Joel 2:32). We believe that love and deep respect should be shown to people of all races (Romans 13:10).
